Well it’s been a year of ups and downs, from losing my voice for a while from a botched procedure to getting it back again after a couple of months, thankfully.
The cost of living is knocking everybody around especially fuel prices and now venues being made to pay musicians superannuation even though they are not employees, so some venues are canning entertainment. Luckily that hasn’t affected me too much just yet.
Had an absolute ball at The Punt Hotel, Darlington Point for the pig races and I’m booked there for Australia Day 2027.
Was blessed with receiving an award at the Dusty Boots Festival for services to Country Music.
Now we come to the Royal Hotel, Yeovil, I was originally booked there for a gig earlier this year but they had double booked, then I had another booking which I had to cancel because I’d lost my voice in that botched procedure, we are now trying for third time lucky on the 7th November, fingers crossed.
I am performing at the Cradle Country Music Festival in Tasmania this month, as well as East Devonport Bowls Club, Ringwood Hotel, Cressy and Australian Italian Club, Launceston.
Morning Melodies is still happening on the last Wednesday of every month at the Goulburn Soldiers Club and on the second Wednesday of every month, Steve Ruddell is playing at Morning Melodies. We have had to swap a couple of times.
I’ve started booking next year’s gigs, which I will get stuck into even more when I get back from Tassie on the 1st November.
I have updated my Gig Guide for the rest of the year and will update again if any new bookings come in.
